Valerie L. Brown obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from McMaster University. Thereafter she attended the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario where she co-chaired the Criminal Law Association, served as a student magistrate, and competed on a national level in the Moot Court Program. Upon graduating, Ms. Brown articled for the City of Toronto, dealing with small claims court matters, municipal law, planning act issues and real estate.

After her call to the bar, Ms. Brown focussed her practice on family law matters in York Region. In 2005 Ms. Brown co-founded Epstein Brown LLP. In 2007 Brown Law Firm was opened, continuing to serve clients in all family related matters.

Ms. Brown is currently on the panel of the Office of the Children's Lawyer. She is also trained in the practice of Collaborative Law.

Ms. Brown is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, York Region Law Association, Simcoe County Law Association, York Collaborative Practice, Collaborative Practice Simcoe County, and Ontario Bar Association. She has been a member of the Board of Directors for the York Region Law Association since 2006, and served as its secretary from 2007 – 2011 and currently as Vice-President. Ms. Brown is also on the Family Law Committee and is the Chair of the Child Protection Best Practices Committee in York Region.

Melanie O'Neill completed her undergraduate honours degree at Queen's University where she graduated with Distinction. She was also awarded the Gold Medal at graduation.  She then continued at Queen's for her legal studies. While at law school, Ms. O'Neill enjoyed working at Queen's Legal Aid in the summer after her first year. She became a case leader in her second year, overseeing approximately 10 law students and their clients.

After her second year at law school during the summer, and for her articles, Ms. O'Neill worked at Miller Thomson LLP. At Miller Thomson Ms. O'Neill gained valuable experience in many areas of corporate commercial law and civil litigation.

Melanie O'Neill's background in social justice and corporate law has allowed her to provide well-rounded representation to her family law clients. She practices in all areas of family law, and has a special interest in custody, access, and division of property issues.

When Ms. O'Neill is not working she enjoys running, spinning classes, and spending time with her family.

Ruby Leung obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from York University. Thereafter, she attended Osgoode Hall Law School and obtained her law degree. During her time at Osgoode, Ms. Leung was the Vice-President of the Osgoode Intellectual Property and Technology Law Society, and she also participated in Prono Bono Students Canada. In addition, Ms. Leung spent one semester in Osgoode's Clinical Intensive Program in Poverty Law at Parkdale Community Legal Services, where she represented many clients in tribunal matters. Upon graduation, Ms. Leung articled for the Workplace Safety Insurance Appeals Tribunal where she continued to work after her call to the Bar.

In December 2009, Ms. Leung joined Brown Law Firm. She represents clients in all aspects of family law matters and will preparation.

Ms. Leung is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the York Region Law Association. Ms. Leung accepts Legal Aid Certificates.
